Where did you grow up and where are you based now?

The Land of the Croaking Frogs, Tootgarook; Mornington Peninsula followed by Harston, Goulburn Valley, then back to Mornington Peninsula.

I am now based now in Cranbourne West, on the border of Mornington Peninsula and City of Casey.

What did you want to be when you ‘grew up’?

To follow my older cousin's footsteps to live and work all around the world within the travel industry.

When and how did you transition from working for someone else to working for yourself?

My wholesale essential oil membership with dōTERRA began in September 2015 whilst on maternity leave after having lunch with high school girlfriend Britt and Tania Zaetta. Next thing l knew l was leading a team of like-minded mums.

What’s your why?

After working in travel for 23 years and birth of my 1st child l had a ‘light bulb moment’, with an opportunity to be a WAHM. Realising I needed to change my work life balance in order to be the best l could be in my new life venture.  I had a new found obsession with life changing Certified Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil Products and a vision to oversee the important developmental stages of my daughter's life and work from home, so Pure Essential Oils for families began. To meet likeminded people and have adult conversation that did NOT include talking all day about babies and baby talk.

What do you love about what you do?

Helping others learn about how Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils may help them with their families daily life. Including how to help guide them living with less chemicals in the home.

I love the whole gamut that comes with running and operating a WAH business, including the start-up from designing a logo, flyers, business cards, creating social media pages and the upkeep, designing invitations for monthly workshops.

It’s been such an amazing 8 months meeting many inspiring women along the way from all walks of life, plus a few men too.

What’s challenged you most since being in business?

Work, Life, Balance. WAH with a dependant young child and tax, tax and more tax; ugh!

What are your greatest achievements to date?

Fulfilling my lifelong dream to be in the travel industry, followed by operating my own business. Then expanding and mentoring an exciting team of six individual women who are also WAHM’s.

I have recently been recognised as ELITE ranking with doTERRA within the first 8 months of operations.

On a personal level creating a new life and home with my hubby, daughter and Groodle.

What are some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way?

How to start up a successful health and wellness business and the challenge of working with different personalities and managing and encouraging a team.

To keep an open mind, you never know who your next client might be.

What’s the toughest decision you’ve had to make since running your own business?

Learning to balance my home life whilst being a fully functional business operator.

Choosing a business logo is not easy especially when it is an online competition with competitors from around the world.

What are some resources you or your business can’t live without?

The Essential Life Book - it truly is an Essential Oils bible, from health, home, wellness, cooking, household products, DIY, babies, pregnancy, post-partum just to name a few.

24/7 access to doTERRA APP. This allows me to check my daily sales qualifications, business team information, wholesale account online shop ordering, reports and so much more.

What advice would you give someone wanting to start their own business or change jobs to an industry/role that they’d love?

Research the product first, if it is your passion and you have a belief that will always overcome the hurdles; GO FOR IT! Hold onto the roller coaster and be set for a wild ride.

What’s something most people wouldn’t know about you?

Recognised as one of Melbourne’s TOP 4 Trip Advisor reviewers

I am a genealogy geek, with an online Ancestry.com membership, over the last six years and love every facet about the history, facts and lives of those before us.

What does your ideal day look like?

Attending to my daughter, Groodle, husband, daughter, Facebook, Emails, daughter, Instagram, deliveries, orders, daughter, workshops, Groodle, husband then repeat all again.

What’s one of your favourite quotes?

If you don’t ask, you don’t get - Stevie Wonder.

Who or what inspires you?

Experiencing new cultures, visiting towns and countries l haven’t explored before, devouring food, food and more food.
