Singer Island is the name of a quaint little peninsula located just outside of West Palm Beach, Florida. It’s sort of a hidden treasure in South Florida known for its unique culture and activities. Visiting Singer Island, you’ll find plenty of great places to stay, eat, surf, fish, swim, and explore. Whether you want to relax or find a new adventure, it’s all waiting for you here. These are just a few of the things that make it the ultimate beach vacation spot.
Seven miles of beach
With so many public and private beaches along the peninsula, they’re almost too difficult to count. Some are owned or run by the local establishments that sit next to them, while others have open entrances with public access. And one is located within beautiful MacArthur Park, where you can see well-preserved ruins and tropical vegetation.
Just next door to Singer Island is Peanut Island Park, which is a tiny little piece of paradise where you can boat, swim, fish, and snorkel. It’s surrounded by a walkway that encircles the entire perimeter so you can enjoy the waves and the ocean air. There’s also a tent area if you wish to camp out and sleep under the stars.
Ocean Reef Park is another scenic park where you can explore and swim in the ocean. This park boasts a natural dune ecosystem and plenty of tropical greenery. Ocean Reef is a peaceful park that is both pet and family-friendly. It’s a place where you can relax and read a book on a park bench while the kids play in the playground. It’s also completely free, which is not always the case for area attractions in South Florida.
And lastly, there’s MacArthur Park. This is a well-preserved habitat of native southeast Florida plant life. It’s the only state park in Palm Beach County and is considered an “island in time.” The trained staff at MacArthur Park offers children’s classes, concerts, camps, and guided adventures almost year round.
The fantastic restaurants
Singer Island offers a lot of the five-star hotel restaurants you may be used to dining at on vacation. But they also offer plenty of local cuisine you won’t find anywhere else. Take the Two Drunken Goats restaurant. This restaurant is a favorited Mexican food place among the locals. You can order gluten-free fare and margaritas here. Then there’s Johnny Longboats Tropical Grill on the Beach, where you can order tropical fare ranging from fresh fish to fancy cocktails. And if you’re in the mood for Greek, you can check out the Mediterranean Taverna, located on a rooftop that serves something patrons say is the “best brunch for miles.”
You might not think you’d ever vacation somewhere just for the spa, but that just means you haven’t experienced SiSpa yet. Located in the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort, SiSpa was named as one of the top 20 best spas in the nation by Conde Nast Traveler. Among the treatments you can get are hydro-facials, Swedish massages, and manicures. And it’s all located right on the beach in a tranquil environment for pampering its guests.
The water sports
There’s no shortage of adventure on Singer Island. There are places to rent paddle boards, boats, and kayaks. But there are also plenty of professionals to teach you how to use them. You can also go on guided tours, get scuba diving lessons, hop on a power boat, or learn to surf. Whatever type of water sports you enjoy, you can bet there’s a place on Singer Island to participate.
